Privacy Policy for Maptalks

AppKraft ("we," "us," or "our") operates Maptalks, a location-based audio tour guide mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.


INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account Information
When you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive your email address, display name, and a unique user identifier. This information is used to authenticate your API requests and manage your credit/quota balance.

Location Data
The App uses precise GPS coordinates from your device to find nearby points of interest (POIs). Location data is sent to third-party APIs (listed below) to retrieve relevant geographic and informational content. Your location is not stored on our servers.

Usage Data
- POI interaction history is stored locally on your device and is not synced to any cloud service.
- Credit and quota usage is tracked server-side and associated with your user ID.

Purchase Data
If you make in-app purchases, purchase tokens are verified with Google Play Billing. We do not store payment card details.


HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

- Location data is used to discover nearby points of interest and generate relevant content.
- Account information is used to authenticate requests and manage your credits/quota.
- Your personal identity is not shared with content generation services.


THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App relies on third-party services for authentication, content delivery, mapping, and payment processing. These services may receive limited data necessary for their function (such as coordinates, account identifiers, or purchase tokens). Your personal identity is not shared with services that do not require it.

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.


WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

- No analytics or tracking SDKs are used
- No crash reporting services are integrated
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No audio recording — the App uses text-to-speech playback only
- No access to your contacts, camera, or photos
- Location data is not stored on our servers


DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

- POI history is stored locally on your device using an on-device database and is never uploaded.
- Server-side, we store only your user ID, credit balance, and token usage statistics.
- All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.


DATA RETENTION

- Local data remains on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
- Server-side account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.


YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your account and associated server-side data

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.


CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
